    Plan de manejo ambiental para la conservación y restauración del bosque y vegetación protector Rumicruz perteneciente a las provincias de Azuay y Cañar

    The Rumicruz Forest and Protective Vegetation (BVP) is one of the most important forest remnants for the provinces of Azuay and Cañar, as it houses a great diversity of species and water sources important for human and agricultural consumption, the main objective of this work was to generate a Management Plan that, provides various conservation and restoration alternatives for the BVP area. The methodology used consisted of fieldwork, use of cartographic information and bibliographic review of similar projects. Once the impacts and the current state of the ecosystem were identified, the study area was zoned and impacts assess ed using Leopold's matrix. The results obtained for the impact assessment and at the same time the zoning of the area, allowed the approach of programs aimed at providing adequate management of resources, highlighting that BVP Rumicruz has been affected by the advance of the agricultural border, change of the hydrological cycle, habitat modification and forest exploitation. For the generation of the Management Plan, the Methodological Guide for the Development of Forest and Protective Vegetation Management Plans of Ecuador, proposed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Randi Randi Corporation in 2008 was based.
