Item Implementación de un invernadero con sistema automatizado para el control de riego, clima y abastecimiento hídrico, en bancales elevados dentro de “La Huerta” del Campus Balzay de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-21) Quiridumbay Picón, Paula Michelle; Mancera Montalván, Pablo Walter; Piedra Campoverde, Santiago Andrés; Guiñansaca Albarrazin, Alexis Danilo; Abril Rivera, Raúl AlfredoThe present project was carried out in the province of Azuay, in the city of Cuenca, and aims to implement an automated greenhouse in "La Huerta" at the Balzay Campus of the University of Cuenca. This system integrates Arduino-based technology to efficiently manage drip irrigation, climate control, and water supply, using a storage tank as the water source. The system is designed to support a medium-scale area containing three elevated planting beds designated for cultivating low-production crops. By integrating sensors and actuators, the system enables precise monitoring and control of critical variables, such as soil moisture and ambient temperature, which vary depending on the type of crop, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity. Through programmed algorithms, irrigation cycles are automated, and resources such as water and energy are optimized, ensuring sustainable space management. The initiative also seeks to promote sustainability and serve as a replicable model for other rural and urban environments.Item Rehabilitación de módulos del sistema CIM del laboratorio de máquinas y potencia de Ingeniería Eléctrica de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-08) Tinizhañay Beltrán, Freddy Alejandro; Romero Quezada, Erick Alejandro; Mejía Lojano, Juan Sebastián; Abril Rivera, Raúl AlfredoThe rehabilitation of the modules of the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system of the machinery and power laboratory of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cuenca is presented as a fundamental project to improve the academic and practical training of students. This work seeks to update and optimize the existing modules, incorporating modern technologies that facilitate more effective learning and aligned with the demands of today's labor market. The main objective of this rehabilitation is to achieve functionality and efficiency of the CIM system, allowing students to acquire competencies in the integration of industrial processes, automatic control and resource management. The methodology includes a thorough diagnosis of the current state of the modules, followed by the implementation of technical and technological improvements. Tools such as simulators and specialized software will be used to allow a better understanding of industrial processes. Among the specific activities to be carried out are the technical evaluation, which consists of the analysis of the current state of the modules, identifying failures and areas for improvement, and the technological upgrade, which involves the integration of new components and software that meet the current needs of the industrial sector.
