    Impacto de la condición corporal sobre la fertilidad de las cuatro razas bovinas más difundidas en la provincia de Pastaza

    The effect of body condition on fertility of the four races most widespread in the province of Pastaza was investigated. 2.434 reproductive records database between 2009-2013 were used. The variables analyzed were: reproductive status pregnant and nonpregnant year, race, body condition (CC), zeal, bull or straw used, AI technician. The sample for statistical analysis of the data was based in three models, one of them is nested. The pregnancy rate achieved at the provincial level with this improvement program was 60 to 69%. The CC was only significant for C / HMz race, which showed a coefficient of linear low negative correlation with respect to pregnancy, other variables zeal, straw, technical also had statistical difference (P> 0.05). But in the second analysis model applied significant differences between the place (canton) and CC (P = 0.047) and between cow race and bull race (P = 0.006) was found. Thus we conclude that the (CC) influenced the gestation depending on place, independently of the cow race, factor place that was not important reproductive variable studied, environmental factors: year, canton and CC, influenced in levels of gestation of the study population, genetic factors analyzed cow race and father race did not influence only bull was important factor in the gestation of the cow and the human factor was decisive in causing variation in gestation
