Item Análisis sobre la percepción de la ciudadanía cuencana, respecto a la prohibición de actividades mineras en zonas de recarga hídrica del cantón Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-03-08) Gómez Quito, Paola Marcela; Vega Chimbo, Jessica Mariuxi; Alfaro Reyes, Gil EloyThis research aims to know the perception of Cuenca Citizens, regarding the mining prohibition in water recharge zones of the Cuenca canton, considering different approaches that revolve around mining, some of them are: environmental, social and economic. Currently, mining is addressed as a process that generates controversy because there is acceptance or rejection of the citizenship regarding these activities, especially if it is carried out in the water recharge zones of the Cuenca canton. The study was carried out using a mixed sequential explanatory approach, where quantitative and qualitative techniques are used for the collection of information. The data analysis was carried out in two phases, the first corresponding to the analysis of quantitative data obtained from 665 surveys, and the second phase corresponds to the analysis of the qualitative information obtained from the application of 24 semistructured interviews and the observation technique. Among the main results of the research, it was found that there is a very evident environmental perception in Cuenca's citizenship, which promotes the fight against the impacts of mining, the conservation of water resources and environmental protection. In addition, the role of women as protagonists in the resistance against mining processes is rescued.Item Reconfiguración de relaciones de poder y su influencia socio ambiental dentro de las comunidades: Sacre, Chalacay, Tubán y Guarainag, tras la implementación del proyecto hidroeléctrico Paute Mazar 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-10-15) Quintuña Sacta, Pamela Estefanía; Landy Hurtado, Jenny Germania; Alfaro Reyes, Gil EloyOnce hydroelectric plants are established in communities, the territorial configurations produced by the administration of the infrastructure are not usually considered the center of attention. In this context, the article aims to identify how, from the management of the Paute Mazar Hydroelectric Project in the hands of the public company Corporación Eléctrica del Ecuador (CELEC EP), the reconfigurations of power relations between the Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD's) and the riverside communities of Sacre, Chalacay, Tubán and Guarainag. From an environmental perspective, this study analyzes how the alteration of social relations affects and reconfigures the territory. The methodology implemented was qualitative, taking a simple-embedded methodologica l case study design, using various techniques; interviews stakeholder mapping, participatory mapping, field observation. The results reflect that, in a contextprior to the implementation of the dam, power flowed between local actors, the search for community interest corresponded to basic needs while respecting the limits of the territory. After the management of CELEC, a monolithic power was established that reconfigures the relationship between community and governmental power and turns them into legitimating means of its command. It is concluded that; the power, norms and visions of the State alter the ways of life of the riverside communities who assume environmental and social changes in perpetuity
