Item Desarrollo del lenguaje en niños de 3 a 5 años de la escuela de educación básica Manuel Guerrero periodo 2023 - 2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-09) Jara Pizarro, Karen Gissela; Paute Nivelo, Mayra Cecilia; Abril Orellana, María VerónicaDelayed language development affects the child's communicative development. Problems can be evident both in the understanding and expression of spoken language. Early detection and diagnosis of these alterations during the first years is of great importance since it allows for timely intervention on language delay and prevention of future learning problems. Determine the incidence of primary delay in language development in children aged 3 to 5 years old at the Manuel Guerrero School. Descriptive cross-sectional cohort study. The universe is made up of all children at the initial level from 3 to 5 years old, belonging to the Manuel Guerrero Basic Education School during the period 2023 2024. The Phono-audiological Sheet was applied for data collection, and the Preschool Language Scales Fifth Edition (PLS 5) test battery, to assess language age. The data obtained were analyzed and interpreted through statistical tables and graphs, using the free SPSS version 29 program. Of the 61 children evaluated, 55.7% were boys and 44.3% were girls. 60.7% have normal language development while 39.3% show a slight delay. There is a greater percentage of children with normal language development; however, there is a considerable percentage who present a slight delay, predominating in the boys.Item Determinar la capacidad auditiva en conductores de la compañía de transporte Ricaurte S.A. Cuenca 2017(2017) Abril Orellana, María Verónica; Rodríguez Brito, Alexandra Katherine; Ortega Mosquera, Paola Gabriela; Vintimilla Rojas, Daniela AlejandraBACKGROUND: The hearing is an important and fundamental system that allows the acquisition and development of the language in the human beings. The language offers to the human beings the capacity of communication and social participation, favoring the interaction of the same ones inside the cultural group to which they belong. Different factors can alter the hearing of a person, between them the exhibition to the constant noise and of high intensity. The drivers of urban transport are exposed every day to the noise. The level of intensity and the time of exhibition to the noise of the vehicles that they lead they generate alterations in his health, being the hearing one of the most affected and less studied organs of this population. For what is important to know the prevalence of auditory alterations that can generate the exhibition to the noise. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the auditory capacity in the drivers of the company of urban transport “Ricaurte S.A" of the city of Cuenca 2017. METHODOLOGY: This study is descriptive transverse court. The universe of study includes the drivers of the company of Urban Transport "Ricaurte S.A " of the city of Cuenca that corresponds to 90 patients of masculine sex, in ages between 25 to 60 years. The group of study was realized subjected to and otoscopy and audiometric test, later quantify the results determining the prevalence of auditory alterations of the group of study. The results were interpreted by means of tables and graph. RESULTS: Through the application of hearing tests to the drivers of the public transport company "Ricaurte SA", it was shown that there is a decrease in hearing capacity by 40% from 21 to 40dB in the range of 20 to 40 years, while the 33% presented normal hearingItem Estado auditivo de los maestros mecánicos y afines del gremio 5 de noviembre, Cuenca periodo 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-16) Calderón Siguencia, Mariela Cecilia; Abril Orellana, María VerónicaBackground: According to the WHO, around 1.5 billion people have hearing problems. Hearing loss caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of noise is a public health problem that affects people that works within the industrial area. General objective: Determine the hearing status of mechanical and related workers of the 5 de Noviembre union in the period 2023-2024. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. The universe was made up of 50 mechanical and related workers, data collection was carried out using the audiological form and the hearing status of the participants was assessed using liminal tonal audiometry, data analysis was carried out with SPSS version 21 software. Results: From 50 users, 5 had normal hearing (10.0%) and 45 had some type of hearing loss, with moderate bilateral sensorineural hearing loss being the most prevalent (26%). In summary: Most of the study population presented hearing alterations caused by continuous exposure to noise levels; the machinery used in the workshops exceeds the 85-dB allowed according to the WHO. The need to create regulations that guarantee the occupational health of these workers and reduce the risk of suffering from hearing loss is evident.Item Estado vocal de los estudiantes del coro del conservatorio José María Rodríguez periodo 2023 - 2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-10) Carrion Criollo, Paul Martin; Coronel Ochoa, Betzabe Tamara; Abril Orellana, María VerónicaBackground: It is estimated that around 50% of voice professionals, are prone to suffer vocal disorders or voice alterations, this as a consequence of their daily time of use they give to their voice and bad vocal habits. Objective: To determine the vocal self-perception of the students of the choir of the José María Rodríguez Conservatory. Period 2023-2024. Methods: This research project is a descriptive cross-sectional cohort project, which was carried out at the “José María Rodriguez Conservatory” in Cuenca- Ecuador with a total of 40 participants. For the data collection, first the participants signed the informed consent, then they filled out the Clinical Voice History and by means of the S-VHI the information regarding their vocal quality was collected, the analysis and tabulation of the data was carried out in the SPSS software version 29. Results: Out of the 40 participants surveyed, 70% were in the 18-25 age group, 50% were male and 50% female. 57.5% had been in the choir for 1 year- 5 years 11 months, and 75% use their singing voice for 7-9 hours a week. 57.5% of the participants have at least one harmful habit. According to the S-VHI, 52.5% feel that their voice has a slight problem. Conclusions: Most of the singers of the higher choir of the José Maria Rodriguez Conservatory self-perceive that their vocal state has a slight alteration.
