    Asociación entre casos judiciales penales y de familia y la simulación o disimulación de síntomas en personas que son atendidas en el Instituto de Criminología, Criminalística e Intervención Psicosocial Familiar de la Universidad de Cuenca-Ecuador, en el periodo 2017-junio 2024

    Simulation and dissimulation imply a manipulation of reality. These two phenomena can be identified through a psychological evaluation, and it is crucial to recognize them, particularly in the legal field. The aim of this study is to determine the association between criminal and family judicial processes and the simulation or dissimulation of symptoms detected in users of the Institute of Criminology, Criminalistics, and Family Psychosocial Intervention at the University of Cuenca between the period from 2017 to June 2024. This research was carried out with a quantitative approach and has a descriptive its scope. The type of design is nonexperimental, and cross-sectional. The study population consisted of 52 subjects, and the instrument that was used is the Symptoms Checklist SCL-90-R found in each participant´s file. As a result, it was found that none of the participants dissimulated their symptoms, and only a few simulated them. Furthermore, no significant associations were found between the type of legal process and the variables studied.
