Item Agentes ancestrales: situación socio-económica y socio-laboral Cuenca – Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2019-12-05) Mendoza Sigüenza, Ana Lucía; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaIn the present research called «Ancestral agents: balance, healing and life», the current situation in which the ancestral medical agents work in the canton of Cuenca is analyzed, with an emphasis on socio-economic and socio-labor factors, and their relationship with the Popular Economy and Solidarity The population studied were 105 ancestral agents belonging to urban and rural parishes of the canton of Cuenca, which are registered with the Ministry of Health. For its analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The results showed that medical practices are not influenced by socio-labor and socio-economic factors, individual characteristics such as age, sex, education, which are determinants for the performance of ancestral medical practices. These results confirm that the ancestral practices are carried out beyond the economic return, that its ultimate goal is to contribute to the healing of people, as a solidarity act, this is where ancestral practices and the popular and solidary economy converge, both seek to improve the conditions of people and contribute to the care of life.Item Análisis de la aplicación de presupuestos participativos desde la percepción de Juntas Parroquiales del cantón Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-06-27) Cordero Sanmartín, Iván Fabricio; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaThe objective of this research is to measure the perception of the members of the parish Autonomous Decentralized Governments of the canton of Cuenca regarding the application of participatory budgets as a participation mechanism. For this purpose, a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative) was used, which allowed the application of surveys and interviews as data collection techniques. Statistical techniques and content analysis were applied to analyze the information. These were applied to a representative and convenient sample. The results show that the members of the GADs perceive that there is a high level of compliance with the processes of planning, execution and fulfillment of the participatory budgets. Regarding the differences in the perception of the planning, execution and fulfillment of participatory budgets, according to sex, the results show that there are no differences between women and men, since they consider that the application is efficient, without questioning gender issues due to the lack of knowledge about the impact that participatory budgets have on people's lives in a differentiated manner. Finally, regarding budget allocation according to the size of the sub-national governments, participatory budgets are a positive alternative to guarantee the execution of priority works. Among the strategies, the need for joint, coordinated, professional work between the GADs and the communities prevails, generating actions oriented to training, education and information. In conclusion, the parish GADs face great challenges to overcome the limitations in terms of knowledge, motivation and willingness on the part of the community and the authorities in a context where democracy feels weaker every dayItem Análisis del impacto socioeconómico de los microcréditos otorgados por la Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Riobamba Ltda., en la ciudad de Riobamba. 2012 – 2017(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-06-10) Duta Uyaguary, Edison Mauricio; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaMicrocredits are considered loans aimed mainly at vulnerable groups as an alternative for access to credit that allows them to undertake activities to generate subsistence income. However, there are conflicting positions: on the one hand, it is considered a key factor for the economic and social development of the petitioners and, on the other hand, it is considered a mechanism that deepens poverty. This being the situation, the present study shows the impact that microcredit has generated, according to the feelings of the members of the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Riobamba (COAC) Ltda. For this purpose, a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative) was applied, which facilitated the use of multiple data collection and analysis techniques. The results show that, at the personal, family, community and entrepreneurial levels, microcredit has generated positive impacts on the members who have had access to it, contributing to their personal development, improving their living conditions, generating sources of employment and enhancing their entrepreneurship, thus contributing to poverty reduction and strengthening more egalitarian relationships. In addition, it is evident that individual characteristics such as gender, age, origin, education level and marital status influence the probability of using microcredit to create or promote entrepreneurship. The factors specific to the enterprise also have an impact, demonstrating that self-employed partners, who pay rent, who have a RUC, are more likely to invest the microcredit in the empowerment of the enterprise. The opposite situation occurs with the monthly income factor. Regarding the impact of microcredit on the improvement of the quality of life of the members, it is perceived that, at the personal level, microcredit contributes to the development of selfesteem of the members. At the family level, it generates resources for family subsistence, since the remaining funds are invested in health, food and education. At the community and Edison Mauricio, Duta Uyaguary 5 institutional level, they generate some jobs for the people of the community, and have an impact on the strengthening of respectful relationships and social cohesion. Finally, at the level of entrepreneurship, it contributes to the development of enterprises and as a result to the improvement of the economic and social living conditions of the people involved. In conclusion, for this group studied, microcredit has allowed them to improve their living conditions, because, from the investment of the resources granted in their enterprises, they have improved their income and, thus, have increased their economic and social security and selfesteem. This situation has led to the development of family and community relationships of respect, solidarity and cooperation; therefore, microcredit is considered "a seed of personal, economic and social development".Item El cooperativismo como una mejor opción de vida: el caso de la Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jardín Azuayo. Cuenca-Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-05-24) Arias Amaguaña, Andrés Eduardo; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaCooperativism has become an organizational alternative to confront the capitalist and neoliberal practices that have led to great crises, where accumulation, individualism and the interrelationships of human beings are determined in strictly material terms. This form of organization arises inspired by values that are concretized in practice through cooperative principles. However, these principles are threatened, since cooperatives in general, and savings and credit cooperatives in particular, must comply with regulations that do not differentiate them from private banks. This is a worrying situation, since they have to respond to financial objectives, neglecting the applicability of cooperative principles, especially the principle of cooperative education, the dissemination of information and the training of their members. In view of this situation, this research analyzes the application of cooperative principles by members, workers and managers of the Jardín Azuayo Savings and Loan Cooperative in Cuenca. For this purpose, a mixed methodology (quantitative-qualitative) was applied, which allowed the use of techniques such as surveys and interviews. A stratified random sampling with proportional allocation was defined, reaching a total of 267 members (7.49% managers, 41.20% employees and 51.31% members) of which 120 belong to the male gender and 147 to the female gender, belonging to the urban (192) and rural (75) areas. The interviews were conducted with a sample of 12 people (members, workers and managers) defined through a pro convenience sample, which allowed saturating the information on the subject. The results show that the application of cooperative principles by members, workers and managers of the Jardín Azuayo Savings and Loan Cooperative is very high, with emphasis on the principles of free and voluntary participation, education, training and information, commitment to the community, cooperation among cooperatives, democratic control, autonomy and independence, and economic contributions; however, the application of the principle of distribution and redistribution of profits is not strongly perceived. Regarding the applicability of cooperative principles, it is evident that managers have a higher level of «cooperation factor (cooperative learning)» than partners and employees. On the other hand, it is shown that there is a positive and significant relationship between all the sub-dimensions of cooperative learning, the cooperation factor and the practices of cooperative principles, with the exception of the principle of economic participation of members. Data that allow us to conclude that the Jardín Azuayo Cooperative demonstrates a high applicability of the cooperative principles and practices strengthened by the training processes and the implementation of cooperative learning in its partners, workers and managers. However, this situation is in permanent danger in a marked context of uncertainty generated in the individualistic and capitalist system.Item Estilos de liderazgo y su incidencia en el compromiso organizacional con mediación de engagement en funcionarios(as) de los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados Municipales de San Felipe de Oña y Chordeleg(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-12-21) Pulla Cedillo, Juan Carlos; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaPublic institutions face multiple challenges in a context of rapid globalization, where leadership and organizational commitment play a fundamental role in achieving institutional goals and objectives. However, their study is still limited. In this context, this research analyzes the leadership styles and organizational commitment of officials of the Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GADs) of San Felipe de Oña and Chordeleg. A quantitative methodology is used. The unit of analysis is the civil servants of the aforementioned GADs. The data collection technique is the survey, constructed based on three validated questionnaires: "Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire", developed by Bernard Bass and Bruce Avolio, Organizational Commitment questionnaire by Meyer and Allen, Ultrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES), reduced version, by Schaufeli and Bakker. The survey was applied to 164 employees (69 from San Felipe de Oña and 95 from Chordeleg). The results show that transformational leadership has an impact on organizational commitment, presenting a positive but moderate correlation between organizational commitment and transformational and transactional leadership styles. Specifically, in the GAD of San Felipe de Oña, there is no significant incidence of any type of leadership, while in the GAD of Chordeleg, Transformational Leadership has a positive impact on organizational commitment. In addition, Engagement mediates the relationship between transformational leadership style and organizational commitment of the GADs studied. In conclusion, it is shown that leadership styles, especially transformational leadership, directly influence organizational commitmentItem Fomentando los emprendimientos sociales agro productivos del cantón Pucará a través del apoyo cooperativo y la tecnología(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-06-12) Arias Espinosa, Andrés Rodolfo; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaThis thesis focused on examining cooperative learning, digital competencies and the social entrepreneurial potential of members of several associations supported by the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito "Jardín Azuayo" in the canton of Pucará. Using a mixed methodology, three hypotheses were proposed to understand the dynamics of social entrepreneurial potential. The results revealed a majority participation of women, with a predominance of adults, and a continuous incorporation of new members. Gender equity in leadership positions and a high commitment to cooperation and teamwork were observed. However, digital competencies showed worryingly low levels in all associations, with no significant differences between men and women. No sex-related differences in social entrepreneurial potential were found. A positive correlation was found between cooperative learning and social entrepreneurial potential, suggesting that higher participation in cooperative activities is associated with higher entrepreneurial potential. In conclusion, the importance of fostering cooperative learning to promote greater social entrepreneurial potential is emphasized, while it is urged to deepen the analysis of digital competencies, given that their relationship with social entrepreneurial potential is inverse.Item Mujeres: semillas de cambio y libertad(2018) Sigüenza Orellana, Sonia Catalina; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaThe following research demonstrates the potential of women who are part of agroecological organizations to contribute to the development of the province of Azuay, especially in the spheres of popular and solidarity economics, food sovereignty from agroecological practices, and in environmental, social, and political systems, all of which are fundamental to local development, essentially for the sustainability of life. To visualize the urgency of overcoming the capitalist, androcentric, and patriarchal relations that condition the unequal participation of men and women in all areas of life is fundamental to the construction of an equitable and egalitarian society. Equal participation in opportunities constitutes a fundamental tool with which to combat gender inequality. In this sense, it is essential to identify under which conditions women participate in these spaces, for which the present research analyzes the current situation of men and women in agroecological organizations in the following areas: sociodemographic, sociolaboral, socioeconomic, socioenvironmental, and sociopolitical, as well as the families of the associated persons, to determine the influence of gender roles on associative participation, and how these factors explain it. The results evidence how women build lives, families, organizations, and dreams around agroecology, altogether supporting the construction of societies in which differences are not considered inequalities, since they only seek a better future for themselves, for their families, and for their communities (Barrera, 2010), becoming seeds for societal change.
