Item Las otras paternidades desempeñadas por varones representantes de sus hijas e hijos de una institución educativa pública y una institución educativa fiscomisional en Cuenca, periodo 2022-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-01) Astudillo Vallejo, Michelle Estefania; Chima Lalvay, Angie Michelle; Herrera Montero, Luis AlbertoThe limited time fathers have in exercising their co-responsible paternity constituted the central problem of the research since fathers participate actively in the work environment. This problem encouraged the research on the presence of other paternities in two educational institutions. Additionally, the mothers' experiences as representatives were considered as a complement to the project. Therefore, the general objective was to characterize the other paternities performed by parents representing their children in a public educational institution and a public/religious educational institution in Cuenca during the academic year 2022-2023. In the methodology, a participatory diagnosis was applied through focus group techniques and a workshop to characterize the different experiences of the subject population of the study. In these spaces, they shared their thoughts and opinions, which allowed the joint construction of strategies that could balance their work with the exercise of their parenthood. Therefore, within the significant findings, fathers presented characteristics of a hegemonic patriarchal imposition, demonstrating a lack of knowledge about how to reprimand their children. Likewise, according to the gender roles established by cultural conceptions and sexual division, most participants considered that such domestic and care activities were done as a way to help and developed mainly by the mother.
