Item Representaciones sociales en estudiantes universitarios pertenecientes al grupo Pueblos Resistiendo que participaron en las manifestaciones de Octubre del 2019 sobre la criminalización de la protesta social, durante el periodo 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-12-15) Arias Barrera, Santiago Andrés; López Balladares, Carlos Andrés; Mendoza Eskola, Juanita CatalinaSince the military dictatorship, the National Security Law was imposed, which was used to suppress social protest and classify it as criminal acts. During the protests in October 2019, the Ecuadorian state resorted to strategies of criminalization of protest by imposing a state of exception and media defamation, violating human rights and causing the death of several citizens. This is how the objective of this research is to describe the social representations of the criminalization of social protest by university students belonging to the group Pueblos Resistiendo who participated in the demonstrations of October 2019. It is intended to identify the meanings that university students assign to social protest, as well as their opinions and attitudes on the legal, media and repressive strategies used by the state against social protest. The research was carried out during the period March - August 2021 and was approached from a qualitative approach, from a non-experimental cross-sectional design. It was applied to ten students who participated in the October protests, through semi-structured interviews. The expected results were to recover the facts from the experience of the students who participated in the protests of October 2019 to make this social phenomenon visible and that the investigation serves as the basis for the analysis of psychosocial effects in the criminalization process.
