Item La intención emprendedora en los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera de Hospitalidad y Hotelería de la Universidad de Cuenca.(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-04-22) Alvarado Moscoso, María Clara; Cajamarca Gómez, Paola Belén; Astudillo Durán, Silvana VanessaThe present research project has the purpose of determining the entrepreneurial intention in the university students of the Hospitality and Hotel Management career of the University of Cuenca, through the analysis of the desirability, viability and intentionality towards the creation of companies, as well as the factors that influence this decision; in the same way, there were identified the personality attributes that students possess that could be considered representative of an entrepreneur. The research has a sample of 197 students and the methodology used consisted of a descriptive cross- sectional analysis of a quantitative nature. The results show that the vast majority of students consider it desirable to create a company, however they also consider it difficult to do so currently, for this reason a low percentage of them, mostly women, have the firm intention of creating a company; furthermore, they consider that the main factors or obstacles that influence in this decision are the access to financing and the existing competition. In turn, it was found that most of the students have attributes such as adaptability to changes, curiosity to know new things, imagination, enthusiasm and also consider it important to have autonomy at work; furthermore, a greater number of male students feel self-confident compared to female students and on the contrary, a greater number of female students consider themselves persevering people compared to males. Therefore, it is concluded that, despite the fact that students have several attributes that are ideal in an entrepreneur, there are few who have the intention to create a company, this because they mostly consider it not viable in current times due to the influence of various factors, including the personal, social and economic ones.
