Item Percepción de estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología en la Universidad de Cuenca respecto a recibir terapia psicológica durante la formación académica, período 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-09-28) Abad Amón, Maritza Nataly; Morales González, Johanna Elizabeth; Carrasco Vintimilla, Juana LucíaPsychological therapy during the training of the psychologist has been studied since the 1990s, both on the European continent and in the United States and Latin America; This is fundamental, since the professional in training, who has gone through his own therapeutic process, has shown greater personal growth and better resolution of his own conflicts, in such a way that a positive impact on his professional practice was evidenced; hence, the general objective of this study was to analyze the perception of the students of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca about receiving psychological therapy during their academic training. For this reason, it was proposed to describe the different perceptions of the students about how psychological therapy contributes to the construction of the professional profile, how it contributes to the self-care of the future psychologist and how it influences the maintenance of mental health. This study had a qualitative approach with an exploratorydescriptive scope, with a phenomenological design, whose participants were twelve students who attended the tenth cycle of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca; a semistructured interview was used as a research instrument. Among the results, the study participants consider that receiving psychological therapy during academic training is important and necessary, it directly influences the achievement of mental health, the maintenance of self-care and the formation of the professional profile, since it allows the acquisition of therapeutic skills and the learning of techniques that will serve them in their professional practice. It is concluded that receiving psychotherapy during the training of the psychologist contributes significantly to the development of professional skills, the learning of techniques and balance the different dimensions of personal life.
