Propuesta de un plan de reactivación turística del cantón Sígsig, después de la emergencia sanitaria COVID-19 periodo octubre 2020 – marzo 2021

Abstract

This research work includes the elaboration of a proposal for a tourism reactivation plan of the Sígsig canton, after the Covid-19 health emergency, in the period October 2020 - March 2021, whose purpose is to respond to the tourism industry at this time when the pandemic has caused a rise in the unemployment rate, closure of flights, absence of tourists and consequently a deterioration in it. To achieve the above, three objectives have been proposed, the first, to diagnose the current situation of tourist attractions and services that the canton has, the second, the updating of the tourist services cadaster of the Sígsig canton, and finally, the proposal of strategies for the reactivation in areas related to the tourist activity in the canton. Mixed research was achieved through the application of interviews, surveys, observations, field visits, among others. The research has managed to assess the current state of the canton regarding the tourist attractions and the consequences of the effects of the pandemic. It has also been possible to update the cadaster of tourist services taking into account accommodation, catering and intermediation. To conclude, strategies are proposed that contribute to the tourist reactivation of the Sígsig canton after the Covid-19 health emergency.
