Abstract: | Background: hypertension (HT) has a high prevalence worldwide and its control has been associated with family functionality, lifestyle and compliance with treatment.
Objective: to determine the inadequate control of hypertension and associated factors in individuals older than 40 years of the San Sebastian parish in 2017.
Materials and methods: an observational, analytical, cross-sectional study consisting of 190 hypertensive patients, who underwent a questionnaire and their blood pressure was measured, tabulating the data obtained and performing their analysis using the statistical program SPSS. in its version 15. For the analysis, the Chi square test and the OR with their CI 95% were calculated to evaluate the association between variables.
Results: 76.3% women, 36.2% between 71 to 80 years, 58.9% married, 70.5% reside urban area, 63.7% with basic education, 77.9% belong to families moderately functional, 45.3% have uncontrolled hypertension and 52.1% do not comply with the treatment, 50% have a regular lifestyle, it was associated with poor control of hypertension when treatment was not met (OR = 5.69 95% CI = 3.10-10.81, p <0.001), moderate-dysfunctional functionality 93% p <0.01, and the bad-regular lifestyle in which 72.8% was uncontrolled. however, the latter did not show statistical difference.
Conclusions: non-control of hypertension was associated with non-compliance with treatment for moderate-dysfunctional family functioning and a bad-regular lifestyle |
Description: | Antecedentes: la hipertensión arterial (HTA) tiene una alta prevalencia mundial y se ha asociado su control con la funcionalidad familiar, estilo de vida y cumplimiento del tratamiento.
Objetivo: determinar el control inadecuado de la HTA y los factores asociados en individuos mayores de 40 años de la parroquia San Sebastián en el año 2017.
Materiales y métodos: estudio observacional, analítico de corte transversal que constó de la participación de 190 pacientes hipertensos, a los cuales se les realizó un cuestionario y se les midió la presión arterial, tabulándose los datos obtenidos y realizándose su análisis mediante el programa estadístico SPSS en su versión 15. Para el análisis, se calculó la prueba Chi cuadrado y los OR con sus IC 95% para evaluar la asociación entre variables.
Resultados: 76,3% mujeres, 36,2% entre los 71 a 80 años, 58,9% casados, 70,5% residen zona urbana, 63,7% con instrucción básica, el 77,9% pertenece a familias moderadamente funcionales, el 45,3% tiene HTA no controlada y el 52,1% no cumple el tratamiento, el 50% tiene estilo de vida regular, se asoció al mal control de la HTA el no cumplir el tratamiento (OR=5,69; IC 95%= 3,00-10,81; p<0,001), la funcionalidad moderada-disfuncional 93% p<0,01 y el estilo de vida malo-regular en el cual el 72,8% se encontró no controlado sin embargo esta última no mostró diferencia estadística.
Conclusiones: el no control de la HTA se asoció al no cumplimiento del tratamiento a funcionalidad familiar moderada-disfucional y a un estilo de vida malo-regular |
