Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the mortality at six, twelve, twenty-four and thirty six months of follow-up, in patients with renal dialysis replacement therapy, admitted to said program between January 2013 and July 2014, and the associated factors, in the UNIREAS and BAXTER dialysis centers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Single cohort follow-up study. All the patients admitted to dialysis replacement therapy were studied from January 1, 2013 to July 1, 2014. For the hypothesis test we used relative risk, confidence interval, p value <0.05, and to determine the survival were used Kapplan and Meier and mortality analysis. RESULTS: A total of 119 patients entered the study. The mean overall survival in the study was 32.59 months, the same being 84% at the end of 36 months. The incidence of mortality was higher in patients in the female group, over 65 years, diabetics, hypertensive, dyslipidemic although the differences were not significant; whereas the same was true when it was linked to higher mortality in Peritoneal Dialysis compared to Hemodialysis. CONCLUSIONS: There is an inverse relationship between survival and follow-up time, survival at dialysis replacement therapy at the end of 6 months was 96.64%, at 12 months of 93.28%, at 24 months of 89.92% and at 36 months of 84%. mortality was 16%.
