Optimización del sistema de transporte público y comercial de la ciudad de Azogues

Abstract

Transport in Azogues city presents several problems including traffic congestion, lack of safety and efficiency. Public and commercial transport is no exception, added to the lack of organization and disordered growth of the city that increases the vehicular chaos throughout the city. The lack of control over mass transit companies, in terms of safety, travel schedules, location of stops, routes, etc., cause discomfort to its users. On the other hand, the commercial transport has a high number of cooperatives and within them a large number of vehicles that integrate them, which diminishes the capacity of the limited geometry of the centric streets. This study aims to analyze alternative solutions to the traffic problems caused by the current public and commercial transport and suggest the alternative that optimizes this transport from the economic, safety, environmental, and so on. For its realization, the necessary information was collected in the public and commercial transport cooperatives through surveys, counts, etc., which allowed to detect the critical points to be solved. The project "Optimization of the public and commercial transport system Azogues City" was developed in a specific way in the urban center of the city with the addition of certain routes of massive transport lines that border the city and that influence the Normal development of traffic.
