Propuesta de un plan de desarrollo turístico para la parroquia San Joaquín, cantón Cuenca, provincia del Azuay

Abstract

The main objective of the present intervention project is to elaborate a proposal for a tourist development plan for the San Joaquín parish, belonging to the Cuenca canton, province of Azuay. This proposal is based on the need of having a technical instrument that allows the Decentralized Autonomous Government of San Joaquín to improve the management of tourism and thus contribute to the tourist, social and economic development of the parish. For the elaboration of the plan, a situational diagnosis of the parish was made by reviewing secondary sources. Later, for the study of the supply, information was gathered based on the components of the tourist system and through the revision of primary and secondary sources; in order to establish the tourist demand, surveys were carried out through the Kobotoolbox application in places of greater affluence. Likewise, interviews were carried out with the different public actors and tourist service providers with the intention of establishing the portfolio of programs, projects and activities. Finally, it should be noted that this project aims to improve the quality of tourism activity in the parish, to take advantage of its tourism potential and, of course, to ensure that San Joaquín is no longer considered a place of passage but can become a reference a point at the local level with a greater influx of visitors.
