Abstract
This project aims to reinterpret the cultural identity and popular themes of the popular legend
"El Perro Encadenado" of Cuenca, using contemporary illustration techniques and a
theoretically grounded narrative structure. A prequel to the legend has been developed,
exploring the historical and sociocultural context in which the story takes place. Illustration is
used as a representative language to effectively tell the story, presented in the form of a series
of sequential illustrations with a storyboard. The objective is to socialize the reinterpretation of
the legend and effectively transmit the story through evocative images.
Resumen
Este proyecto busca reinterpretar la identidad cultural y temáticas de la leyenda popular "El
perro Encadenado" de Cuenca mediante técnicas de ilustración contemporáneas y una
estructura narrativa teóricamente fundamentada. Se ha desarrollado una precuela de la
leyenda, explorando el contexto histórico y sociocultural en el que se desarrolla la historia. La
ilustración se utiliza como lenguaje representativo para contar la historia de manera efectiva
y se presenta en forma de una serie de ilustraciones secuenciales con un guión gráfico. El
objetivo es socializar la reinterpretación de la leyenda y transmitir la historia de manera
efectiva a través de imágenes evocadoras.
