Implementación de formas complementarias de ahorro previsional al actual sistema de pensiones del Ecuador para recuperar su sostenibilidad

Abstract

To help to salve the financial crisis of the pension system, inherited for years, constitutes a pending act that the Ecuadorian government has postponed for more time than the normal, with irreversible consequences, that mantaining the fund in the current conditions remains unthinkable since it predicts its certain economic debacle. Such questioning evoked the urgent need for a change and a reformist approach to rescue of social security in our country. This proposal for the restructuring of the system, based on the implementation of complementary systems of individual accounts, to the classic pay-as-you-go system, to provide it with financial support, is in our opinion the most viable mechanism and on which this research has focused. For this purpose, I used an exhaustive bibliographic review aimed at determining the compatibility, feasibility and adaptability of the proposal presented (mixed model), with the reality and particularity of social security in our country and with greater emphasis on the capacity of this new model to balance the finances of the pension system that give it long-term financial sustainability, in addition to formulating for the government a way out of the economic crossroads in which contemporary social security finds itself.
