Comprensión lectora: relación con el aprendizaje significativo

Abstract

This monographic work proposes to investigate, analyze and reflect on the relationship that exists between reading comprehension and meaningful learning. To achieve this objective, the bibliographic contributions of various authors in the educational and psychological field were analyzed, the most important and representative research topic were taken, the developing of reading comprehension in students, as a tool, that helps increase their cognitive and metacognitive skills. Likewise, the meaningful learning allows student to become the center of the educational process, taking them as a critical and reflective human been in their own learning process. It is also emphasized, that to developing a reading comprehension that helps to obtain meaningful learning, the student must be able to relate previous ideas with the new contents, to later store them in their memory, save and use them in different contexts, that means going beyond a literal understanding of a writing to achieve a connection in the learners mind.
