Análisis de la vocación turística de la comunidad Tuncarta del cantón Saraguro (Ecuador)

| dc.description | La presente investigación analizó la vocación turística de la comunidad Tuncarta, en el cantón Saraguro (Ecuador), con el fin de comprender su potencial para el desarrollo turístico local. Se adoptó un enfoque cualitativo, de alcance exploratorio-descriptivo y corte transversal, desarrollado en tres fases. Primero, se realizó la revisión bibliográfica que sustentó el marco conceptual centrado en los conceptos de vocación turística, aptitud territorial y capacidad turística. La segunda fase caracterizó los recursos naturales y culturales de la comunidad mediante observación directa, fichas propuestas por el MINTUR y un taller de cartografía social. Los resultados mostraron que Tuncarta no posee atractivos de jerarquía superior, pues sus recursos mostraron una clasificación jerárquica de tipo I y II, siendo el patrimonio cultural inmaterial, especialmente la elaboración del sombrero de lana, su principal fortaleza. En la tercera fase se aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a representantes del GAD cantonal y parroquial, analizadas con el software ATLAS.ti; evidenciando que el turismo se encuentra en un estado de preactivación, condicionado por la débil organización comunitaria y la ausencia de una oferta turística estructurada. Al aplicar las fórmulas correspondientes se obtuvo una aptitud de 1,18 sobre 2 y una capacidad de 0,08 sobre 2, lo que ubica a Tuncarta en el cuadrante III del plano cartesiano, correspondiente a una mediana vocación turística. Esto confirma que la comunidad dispone de recursos con valor turístico real, pero carece de las condiciones operativas necesarias para transformarlos en una oferta sostenible. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This research analyzed the Tuncarta community's tourist vocation in the Saraguro canton (Ecuador) to assess its potential for local tourism development. The study had a qualitative approach, with an exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional scope, developed in three phases. In the first phase, the bibliographic review was conducted to support the conceptual framework, focusing on tourism vocation, territorial aptitude, and tourism capacity. The second phase characterized the natural and cultural resources of the community through direct observation, the files proposed by MINTUR, and a social mapping workshop. The results showed that Tuncarta does not have attractions of higher hierarchy, since its resources were classified in hierarchies I and II, with the intangible cultural heritage, especially the elaboration of the wool hat, being its main strength. In the third phase, semi-structured interviews were applied to representatives of the cantonal and parish GAD, and analyzed with ATLAS.ti software, evidencing that tourism is in a state of pre-activation, conditioned by the weak community organization and the absence of a structured tourism offer. Formulas were applied, and an aptitude of 1.18 out of 2 and a capacity of 0.08 out of 2 were obtained, placing Tuncarta in quadrant III of the Cartesian plane, corresponding to a medium tourist vocation. This confirms that the community has resources of real tourist value but lacks the necessary operational conditions to transform them into a sustainable offering. | |
