Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos naturales y culturales del Cantón Gualaceo, Provincia del Azuay con la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2018)

Abstract

The present intervention project entitled "Update of the inventory of natural and cultural tourist attractions of Gualaceo canton", province of Azuay (2018). It is an information tool for the planning and tourism development of the canton. According to resolution No. 0001- CNC-2016 of the National Council of Competences section II, Article 13, number 3 states that there must be attendance in the realization of tourist inventories by the Municipal and Metropolitan Decentralized Autonomous Governments. The Municipal GAD of Gualaceo canton does not have an inventory of updated tourist attractions so the need arises to carry out this intervention project. Based on the "Manual for Tourist Attractions registration of Ecuador, MINTUR 2018", the natural and cultural attractions that present the best condition for the inventory development were identified and registered; in the same token, the tourist space was associated and typified, creating maps in the geographical information system ArcGIS version 10.4.1. This intervention project 47 tourist attractions were identified, according to the methodology granted by the Ministry of Tourism. However, upon a critical analysis 30 tourist attractions were determined: corresponding 20 to cultural manifestations and 5 to natural attractions.
