La complejidad sociocultural: limitaciones del turismo como medio de desarrollo sostenible en el recinto 6 de Julio, cantón Naranjal, provincia del Guayas

Abstract

This research analyzes how sociocultural complexity hinders the advance of tourism as a means of sustainable development in the Recinto 6 de Julio of Naranjal canton, Guayas province. In this aspect, the sociocultural conflicts of the precinct and their impact on tourism as a means of sustainable development were identified. It also allowed to know the perception that the inhabitants have in relation to tourism. In order to achieve the success of the research, a qualitative approach study was necessary with semi-structured interviews under the determination of an intentional non-probabilistic sample, referring only to the most relevant subjects in the territory. Consequently, a hermeneutic analysis is carried out with the data collected by means of the Atlas Ti 8 software. The results show that the scarce public and private participation in the provision of basic services, labor informality, dependence, infrastructure deficit or differences in the personal interests of the population are the most influential limitations in the territory, preventing an optimal achievement of tourism. Therefore, it is essential to formulate policies and strategies that are conducive to the territory reality in order to ensure the success of tourism and achieve the optimization of the population's quality of life.
