Abstract
The present proposal intends to find out, analyze and interpret the main determining factors
so that young people from 18 to 29 years of age have better probabilities of obtaining
employment in Ecuador in the years 2019 and 2021. This through the use of the figures
official data provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses, published in the
National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment. In this sense, a
model is developed with the ability to predict the probability of being employed based on
different variables, for this, the Logit model established through the statistical application
STATA is used as the best fit model for this analysis. The results obtained indicate that the
variables that provide the greatest probability of being employed are sex, marital status,
contribution to social security and per capita income for both periods of study objective
Resumen
La presente propuesta tiene la intención de averiguar, analizar e interpretar los principales
factores determinantes para que jóvenes de 18 a 29 años de edad tengan mayores
probabilidades de conseguir empleo en el Ecuador en los años 2019 y 2021. Esto a través
del uso de las cifras oficiales proporcionadas por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y
Censos, publicadas en la Encuesta Nacional de Empleo, Desempleo y Subempleo. En este
sentido, se elabora un modelo con la capacidad de predecir la probabilidad de estar
empleado en función de distintas variables, para ello, se utiliza el modelo Logit establecido
mediante la aplicación estadística STATA como el mejor modelo de ajuste para este
análisis. Los resultados obtenidos indican que las variables que aportan mayor probabilidad
de encontrarse empleado son el sexo, estado civil, aportación a la seguridad social y el
ingreso per cápita para ambos periodos de objetivo de estudio
