Evaluación del impacto del nuevo modelo de gestión educativa sobre la tasa de deserción estudiantil en el Distrito de Educación 01D06; periodo 2009-2016

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the new educational management model on the probability of students in district 01D06 leaving the educational system. For this, the methodology used was to calculate the average treatment effect through the estimation of the "Propensity Score Macthing", as it is a non-experimental method that adjusts to the nature of the problem due to the unavailability of information from a student before treatment and after treatment. From the literature consulted it was obtained that school desertion is the result of the influence of factors associated with the composition of the student's home, the relationship he maintains with his parents and the school environment. In order to measure the effect of the treatment of the application of the new educational management model, the probability of desertion of the students who were the object of the relocation of their schools was calculated. The probabilities of deserting are obtained from the estimation of a LOGIT model, whose results will indicate which are the variables that are significant for the case of district 01D06, and the impact that each one has. The results indicate that the time moved to the campus does positively influence the likelihood of dropping out in addition to the hours studied in the day. The results of the treatment effect show a significant impact of relocation on the likelihood of desertion.
