Procesos de orientación vocacional y profesional en los Departamentos de Orientación Vocacional y Bienestar Estudiantil de la provincia del Azuay

Abstract

The present study is retrospective and was designed with the purpose of analyzing processes and models of vocational and professional guidance used by psychologists in the DECEs of the province of Azuay; its basis, the reached products, the use that have been given and how they relate regarding educational reform and the student needs.

The role of the educational psychologist - counselor - professional guidance has been in constant change; the changes in the education system in recent years have meant a concern in the "being" and "doing" of the counselor; against the impending transition from DOBEs to DECEs without certain guidelines; for even a few months of this year the absence of a regulation and general manual that defines the actions of professional orientation had generated a period of deadlock between pasts models and the actual context.

The main objective of this research is to contribute to understanding the processes of vocational and professional guidance that were and are used by professionals in the Departments of Psychology Student Counseling and whether they respond to social realities and changes in the educational system.
