Abstract

The research project is focused on knowing the teacher's perspectives on Project-Based Learning (PBL) in the classroom as a strategy in the teaching of Natural Sciences in order to improve the pedagogical practices of teachers, and determines if, based on the implementation of the PBL can be developed in the students significant learning. For this research, an exhaustive review of the scientific literature was carried out, integrating the contributions of several authors, in order to respond to the following objectives, the first is to identify the process to apply project-based learning to the teaching of Science. Second, to identify the foundations of project-based learning and its implication in the development of teaching in Natural Sciences in basic school, and finally to describe the advantages and limitations of project-based learning in the classroom as a strategy for the teaching of Natural Sciences in basic school. Likewise, the methodology that was applied had a qualitative approach to know the perspectives of the PBL as a methodological strategy within the classroom, an intrinsic case study was also used, and through the interview the information of the participants was collected. The results show the importance and potential of PBL in basic education, despite the existing barriers, suggest that its implementation can improve the quality of education, the comprehensive development of students, the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills. in the Natural Sciences.
