Abstract
This artistic project seeks to explore what has been the figure of the femme fatale in its passage through history and also its image in culture and literature. Characters such as Circle, Helen of Troy, Lamia or Deliah, are women who have been portrayed as seductive and dangerous in their respective stories. In the film noir of the 1940s, the femme fatale became a symbol that challenged gender stereotypes, while at the same time creating misogynistic visions of women themselves. The work presented in a series of paintings inspired by cinematic proposals seeks to analyze and criticize these stigmas by highlighting historical and literary figures considered femme fatales by society. Through these visual compositions we seek to understand the diversity and complexity of femininity, questioning conventional narratives and promoting a deeper and more nuanced vision of the feminine human being.
Resumen
Este proyecto artístico busca explorar lo que ha sido la figura de la femme fatale en su paso por la historia, así como su imagen en la cultura y la literatura. Personajes como Elena de Troya, Lamia o Deliah, son mujeres que han sido retratadas como seductoras y peligrosas en sus respectivas historias. En el cine negro de los años 40 la femme fatale se convirtió en un símbolo que desafío los estereotipos de género, aunque a la vez creó visiones misóginas sobre la propia mujer. La obra presentada en una serie de cuadros inspirados en propuestas cinematográficas busca analizar y criticar estos estigmas destacando figuras históricas y literarias consideradas como femme fatale por la sociedad. A través de estas composiciones visuales se busca comprender la diversidad y complejidad de la mujer cuestionando las narrativas convencionales y promoviendo una visión más profunda y matizada de lo que es el ser humano femenino.
