Abstract
The present work is focused on the analysis and arrangement for guitar of two musical themes that are traditionally performed by village bands in the framework of the patron saint festivities of the Virgen del Carmen, of the Tarqui, parish (Azuay). These themes were selected through a previous survey, applied to the managers at the head of the aforementioned popular groups, taking into account, for their selection, the relevance that the themes have within the executed repertoires. The first chapter aims to contextualize the reader about the popular festivities in Ecuador, pointing out those related to the Feast of the Virgen del Carmen of the town in question and about the music performed by the popular bands of the town on that date. The second chapter seeks to describe the background and characteristics of the guitar in the context of Ecuadorian music, since it is the instrument to which the arrangements resulting from this investigative task are directed. The last chapter focuses on the rhythms of the selected pieces and on presenting an analysis of the arrangements produced by the author of this degree work
Resumen
El presente trabajo se enfocó en el análisis y arreglo para guitarra de dos temas musicales que se ejecutan tradicionalmente por las bandas de pueblo en el marco de las festividades patronales de la Virgen del Carmen, de la parroquia Tarqui (Azuay). Dichos temas fueron seleccionados mediante una encuesta previa, aplicada en los directivos al frente de las agrupaciones populares mencionadas, teniendo en cuenta, para su selección, la relevancia que los temas tiene dentro de los repertorios ejecutados. El capítulo primero pretende contextualizar al lector sobre las festividades populares en el Ecuador, puntualizando las relativas a la Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen de la localidad en cuestión y sobre la música ejecutada por las bandas populares de la localidad en dicha fecha. El segundo capítulo, busca describir los antecedentes y características de la guitarra en el contexto de musical ecuatoriano, dado que es el instrumento al cual van dirigidos los arreglos producto de esta tarea investigativa. El último capítulo se enfoca en los ritmos de las piezas seleccionadas y en presentar un análisis de los arreglos producidos por el autor de este trabajo de titulación
