La construcción de género desde el gimnasio: el caso de una físico culturista en Cuenca

Abstract

This research is oriented towards the gender approach that is invisible from the practice of bodybuilding through ethnographic work, the social phenomena that take place in the daily lives of my interlocutors is analyzed: women, men and individuals that make up the GLBTIQ community. We try to establish the importance both in training in gyms with bodybuilding rooms and, also, in bodybuilding competitions - emphasizing - in the social interactions that occur after the decision to consume supplements and androgynous anabolic substances - AAS- or anabolic. We expose, initially, the state of the field of the anthropology of sports in relation to gender in Ecuador and in the region. Then I will develop a section based on the routines of my interlocutors and how they interact from a therapeutic perspective with the machines in the gym. Finally, I will present the notions of pharmacology related to the sexuality of these individuals and how I could methodologically achieve the core process of this thesis to interpret, especially, the double perspective of female bodybuilding: resistance and obedience.
