Abstract
This intervention project raises the proposal for a tourism development plan for the parish of San Pedro de Quingeo in the province of Azuay.
The work is part of a territorial situation analysis and bibliographic review from different sources. In addition, there are supply and demand studies of San Pedro de Quingeo parish, where an inventory update of tourist attractions is proposed with the methodology for attractions hierarchy and generation of tourist spaces of Ecuador 2018 by the Ministry of Tourism.
Based on the demand study, the typology of tourism most suitable for the study area is proposed. Finally, with the information gathered throughout the project and using participatory methodologies, a portfolio of programs and projects is proposed, which, if implemented, will contribute to the socio-economic, cultural, and natural development of the parish through tourism in the medium and long term.
Resumen
En el presente proyecto de intervención se plantea la propuesta de un plan de
desarrollo turístico para la parroquia San Pedro de Quingeo en la provincia del Azuay.
El trabajo parte de un análisis de situación territorial y revisión bibliográfica de
distintas fuentes. Además, se incluyen estudios de oferta y demanda de la parroquia San
Pedro de Quingeo, donde se propone la actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos
con la metodología para la jerarquización de atractivos y generación de espacios turísticos
del Ecuador 2018 del Ministerio de Turismo.
Con base en el estudio de demanda se propone la tipología de turismo más
adecuada para la zona de estudio. Finalmente, con la información recabada a lo largo del
proyecto y usando metodologías participativas, se propone un portafolio de programas y
proyectos que, de ser aplicados, a mediano y largo plazo contribuirán al desarrollo
socioeconómico, cultural y natural de la parroquia por medio del turismo.
