Abstract
This project addresses the inventory updating of tourist attractions in Cuenca canton, using the methodology of tourist attractions promulgated by the Ministry of Tourism.
In the first instance, a diagnosis of the territory and the tourism system was carried out using secondary information. Subsequently, 92 tourist attractions and 14 resources were registered; from this information they were weighted and put in hierarchies according to the methodological criteria. Then the attractions were associated and the tourist space was typified.
In addition, a focus group of experts was conducted with a focus on the hierarchy of attractions, since the data sheet proposed by the Ministry of Tourism has inconsistencies in weighting. Conclusions and recommendations are finally issued
Resumen
El presente proyecto aborda la actualización del inventario de atractivos
turísticos del cantón Cuenca, mediante la metodología de atractivos turísticos
adoptada por el Ministerio de Turismo. En primera instancia se realizó un
diagnóstico del territorio y el sistema turístico mediante información secundaria.
Posteriormente, se realizó el levantamiento de 92 atractivos turísticos y 14 recursos;
a partir de esa información, se ponderaron y jerarquizaron de acuerdo a los criterios
metodológicos. Luego se asociaron los atractivos y tipificó el espacio turístico.
Además, se realizó un grupo focal de expertos con enfoque en la jerarquización de
atractivos, ya que la ficha propuesta por el Ministerio de Turismo guarda
inconsistencias en cuanto a la ponderación. Finalmente, se emiten conclusiones y
recomendaciones.
