Abstract
Nowadays, tourism has evolved in an astonishing way worldwide; so different branches of tourism such as
hospitality are concerned with innovating and trying to eradicate ancient technologies that in one way or another harm the environment, they seek to obtain improvements in their economy, while helping the planet; because at present the tourist is also looking for different services that contribute to recreation and conservation
activities but that is not environmentally harmful. Different industries including the hotel business, try to promote sustainability by following three fundamental pillars that are business, social and environmental, with the
idea of obtaining an economic improvement, without putting aside the experiences that the client wants to live
thus exceeding their expectations while minimizing pollution. The graduation work has been carried out on the
basis of theRainforest Alliance Guide to Good Practices for Sustainable Tourism; Posada Del Angel, located in
the city of Cuenca; establishment in which the three fundamental pillars found in the guide Will be analyzed,
thus providing sustainable alternatives for each aspect, so that the establishment can take them as guidelines.

Resumen
Hoy en día el turismo ha evolucionado de manera asombrosa en todo el mundo;
razón por la cual diferentes ramas del turismo como la hotelería se preocupan por
innovarse y tratar de erradicar las tecnologías antiguas que de una u otra forma
perjudican al medio ambiente, buscando obtener mejoras en su economía, mientras ayudan al planeta; ya que en la actualidad también el turista busca servicios
diferentes que aporten a las actividades de recreación y conservación pero que no
sea perjudicial ambientalmente hablando.
La industria hotelera trata de fomentar la sostenibilidad rigiéndose en tres pilares
fundamentales que son empresariales, sociales y ambientales, con la idea de obtener beneficios económicos, sin poner de lado a las experiencias que el cliente
quiere vivir superando así sus expectativas y de esta manera minimizar la contaminación.
El trabajo de titulación ha sido realizado en base a la Guía de Buenas Prácticas
para el Turismo Sostenible Rainforest Alliance, en la versión del año 2005; aplicado al Hostal Posada Del Ángel, ubicado en la ciudad de Cuenca; establecimiento
en el cual se analizarán los tres pilares fundamentales que se encuentran el guía,
de esta manera se proporcionarán alternativas sostenibles para cada aspecto, de
tal forma que el establecimiento pueda tomarlas como dirección.
