Abstract
Inclusive education plays an important role in the educational process, so it is now in full diffusion and consolidation. Through the years it has become aware of the need to promote inclusive students´ acceptance in the education system. Therefore, it appeared the curiosity to know about the parents´ attitudes toward inclusive students. For this, it was specifically investigated on the attitudes toward disability; finding then positive, negative, and indefinite attitudes; grouping most of them into positive affirmations. The research conducted is quantitative, in which it was used the Inventory of Attitudes toward people with Disabilities (IAPD). It was applied to students in the sixth and seventh year of basic education of two public schools of Cuenca city. Among its main results, we can conclude that there is a high acceptance of disability by a school, finding also that from the participating boys and girls, who have a more positive attitude to disability, are the boys.
Resumen
La educación inclusiva cumple un rol importante dentro del proceso educativo por lo que actualmente está en plena difusión y consolidación. A través de los años se ha ido tomando conciencia de la necesidad de fomentar la aceptación de estudiantes inclusivos en el sistema educativo. De esta manera surgió la curiosidad de conocer cuáles son las actitudes que tienen los pares frente a estudiantes inclusivos. Para ello se investigóespecíficamente sobre las actitudes hacia la discapacidad; encontrando así actitudes positivas, negativas e indefinidas; agrupándose la mayoría de afirmaciones en positivas. La investigación realizada es de corte cuantitativa, en la que se utilizó el Inventario de Actitudes hacia Personas con Discapacidad (IAPD); se aplicó a estudiantes que cursan el sexto y séptimo año de educación básica en dos escuelas fiscales de la ciudad de Cuenca. Entre sus principales resultados se puede mencionar que existe una alta aceptación de la discapacidad por parte de una de las escuelas, encontrándose también que de los niños y niñas participantes, quiénes presentan una actitud más positiva hacia la discapacidad son los niños.
