Diseño de una plataforma interactiva para t-learning

Abstract

This work covers the formulation and conceptual design for an interactive platform of personalized learning to the development, delivery and presentation of educational material using Digital Television (DTV) as a broadcast medium. Previous to design of the platform, the tools and technologies (for example, e-learning, authentication mechanisms) were analyzed to determine their use and adaptation to both the platform and the ISDB-Tb digital television standard adopted for Ecuadorian territory. A design based on a client-server model was developed, where each one includes services and managers that fulfill the required processes and have the capacity to interact and communicate among them. For the authentication process, an appropriate mechanism was identified for the context of DTV, and as regards the customization process, a mechanism was identified for the collection of information through the use of a user profile capable of managing and delivering educational material according to the levels of learning of the viewer. The design of this platform is expected to enhance the use of the DTV not only for the visualization of the usual programming but also to carry out t-learning processes at home.
