Potencial turístico del carnaval de la Mancomunidad de las Parroquias Orientales del cantón Azogues-Ecuador, 2018-2019

Abstract
This research work sets the tourist potential of carnaval, which takes place every year in the Commonwealth of the eastem parishes of the canton Azogues conformed by Luis Cordero, Taday, Pindilig and Rivera. In order to do this, the celebration of carnival in four areas was studied: (a) their traditions which are disappearing, but at the same time are an attraction for the visito; (b) the degree of organization which varies according to the local parish councils and the participacion of local and invited people; (c) the tourist offer which shows a lack in terms of premises, infrastructure and tourist atraction; and (d) the tourist demand of carnaval that depend on promotion. The methodology of work was mixed, thas is to say, quantitative and qualitative. With regard to the research techniques the structured interview to qualified informants and opinión leaders was used; fiels observation and surveys were applied to visitors who participated in carnival 2019, in the parish Pindilig.
Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación establece el potencial turístico de la fiesta del carnaval que se desarrolla cada año, en la Mancomunidad de las Parroquias Orientales del cantón Azogues conformada por Luis Cordero, Taday, Pindilig y Rivera. Para ello, estudiamos la fiesta del carnaval en cuatro aspectos: a) sus tradiciones las cuales están desapareciendo, pero al mismo tiempo son un atractivo para el visitante; b) el grado de organización que varía de acuerdo a los entes parroquiales y la participación de la población local e invitada; c) la oferta turística que muestra una carencia en planta turística, infraestructura turística y atractivos turísticos; y, d) la demanda turística del carnaval que depende de la promoción. La metodología del trabajo fue mixta, es decir cuantitativa y cualitativa. En cuanto a las técnicas de investigación utilizamos la entrevista a informantes calificados y líderes de opinión; recurrimos a la observación de campo, y encuestas aplicados a los visitantes en el carnaval de 2019 que se llevó a cabo en la parroquia Pindilig.
