Abstract
Cultural heritage, one of the main axles on which this thesis is based on. This work represents
what is inherited and must be preserved for our future generations, that is to say, it is a reflection
of people´s cultural continuity and identity. This work addresses the history of the tangible and
intangible heritage care in Ecuador, specifically of the "Riobamba-Chimborazo" canton, which
is located in the neo-Gothic architecture of the Parish Church in "Santiago-Calpi". Moreover,
studying its concepts and constituent elements, as it is the approach of significant living history
elements through the ethnographic survey that is added to the historical research of the
property, as well as the photographic architectural survey. In conclusion, as the result of this
degree work; An illustrated catalog will be made, that, fed by all the information collected, it
will be reflected through the use of ink and the watercolor drawing technique, as a contribution
to the conservation of the memory associated with the tangible and intangible cultural heritage
enclosed in the context of the "Basilica" of "Santiago de Calpi''.
Resumen
El patrimonio cultural, uno de los ejes centrales sobre los que se asienta este trabajo, representa lo que se hereda y se debe conservar para las generaciones futuras, es decir, es el reflejo de la continuidad e identidad de los pueblos. Este trabajo aborda la historia de la conservación del patrimonio material e inmaterial en el Ecuador, específicamente del cantón Riobamba Chimborazo, situándose en la arquitectura neogótica de la iglesia parroquial de Santiago de Calpi, estudiando sus conceptos y elementos constitutivos, además de acercarnos a elementos significativos de la historia viva, a través del levantamiento etnográfico que se suma a lainvestigación de corte histórico del inmueble y el levantamiento arquitectónico fotográfico.
Finalmente, como resultado de este trabajo de titulación; se realizará un catálogo ilustrado que, alimentado por toda la información recolectada, se plasmará mediante el empleo de la técnica del dibujo a tinta y acuarela como un aporte a la conservación de la memoria asociada alpatrimonio cultural material e inmaterial encerrado en el contexto de la “basílica” de Santiago de Calpi
