Una revisión crítica sobre el proceso proyectual de Oscar Niemeyer
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, 2019-01-31) Eiko Hiroki, Juliana; Rozestraten, Artur Simões
The new technologies of today's world, applied in the perceptive and creative processes, bring the need to rediscover the role of representations in both, academic and professional, areas of architecture. Therefore, this article seeks to understand and demystify Oscar Niemeyer’s (1907-2012) design process, one of the most renowned Latin American architects in the world and known for his peculiar design process - distinguished by consisting only of sketches and texts, but, as this research reveals, also by physical models - and his broad professional activity, which accompanied the variations occurred in architectural production in Brazil and in the world, between the years 1940 and 2010
Procesos creativos en las Vanguardias: De la pintura a la arquitectura
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, 2019-01-31) Paz Agras, Luz
The 20th Century Avant-Garde Movements broke with the traditional distinction of artistic disciplines in favour to an ambiguous space where limits are diffuse. Exhibition space played a relevant role in this sense as a laboratory where art object and spectator are together in interaction, getting to experiences that, in many cases, transcend from the exhibition to disciplinary Architecture. Through the analysis of the Proun Space of El Lissitzky, constructed in 1923, and some of the most relevant proposals of Neplasticist authors, focusing on the creative and experimental process, contributions from Painting to Architecture are established. Some of them, partially shaded by the hegemony of Modern Movement, have been incorporated to 20th Century architectural projects and they are a significant chapter about interdisciplinary creative processes.
Sobre la condición del diseño urbano y arquitectónico: desde el posmodernismo hasta el siglo XXI
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, 2019-01-31) Fuentes Farías, Francisco Javier
Postmodern architecture, across the 1960 and 1970 decades, was concerned to semiotic and meaning theories, including the existential and phenomenological philosophy. Build space’s perceptual experiences took relevance under new space-thinking view, shared by another same matter researching disciplines in a phenomenological frame, but constructivist, poststructuralist, and deconstructivist too, which drives the stream of architectonic and urban design forward to today. The importance of a revision and critique of key concepts such as identity or urban imaginaries, which refer to the point of view of the city's actors, is raised as an indispensable factor in understanding the "complex nature of design".
Primera piedra. Bases para el Proyecto Arquitectónico
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, 2019-01-31) Ferrer Forés, Jaime
The teaching and learning of the project in an initial course constitute the central argument of this article that explores the theoretical foundations on which the practice of the architectural project is based. A theoretical framework is formulated that summarizes a transmissible set of knowledge ordered around the notion of typos, topos, tectonics that come from the culture of the architectural discipline itself and that emanate from architectural works. The teaching program addresses the project process from the conceptualization of the spatial, formal and constructive terms in a reflexive effort, a theoretical thought that gives meaning and coherence to the architectural form. Through the conceptualization of the foundations raised, the course proposes a reflection on the practice of the architectural project vindicating the interest of architecture for disciplinary knowledge.
