The contemporary city is informed by a habitability divided between the modes imposed by the devices of "biopolitical democracy" and the shared elaborations of "terrible communities". This produces a shear in its configuration, which install behaviors that try to articulate this unbearable present emptiness in our lives. In four movements, we want to report of “common places, weapon, temporalities, dynamizations…” that treat of that a world appears. We are in the presence of a repeated transit along the construction of modern urbanity, which now has definitely reached -in the complete realization of its original model- become a great "interior". As celebrates that moment of joy and amazement the title of the article, the "prisoner nomads" would now be engaged in the construction of their narrative and arguments.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have been widely used for the storage and management of territorial information, being especially useful for the analysis and verification of previously formulated hypotheses and coexisting with relevant spatial components. There are heuristic methodologies that, in contexts such as the present one, of data over-abundance, allow showing their coherence, not necessarily requiring hypotheses or previous formulations to generate knowledge. The combined use of (i) Artificial Intelligence techniques such as the Artificial Neural Network (ANN), namely the Self-Organized Maps (SOM), is proposed. They are very effective and robust by classifying and characterizing profiles in the data. They interact with (ii) machine learning techniques such as decision trees, which are singularly functional in the creation of predictive and interpretable models, with the intention of formulating explanatory hypotheses of the previous profiles, working with other different variables. The research proposes the combination of GIS, SOM and decision trees for the construction of explanatory models of the demographic and social profiles of Andalusia, based on low cost data on the residential dimension. The feasibility of such predictive models and their great value for understanding and as decision support on such territories are evaluated satisfactorily.
The city of Puebla in the last decades has presented a slowed urban growth. Situation that has generated conurbation with contiguous rural localities, where still have agricultural zones with great productive value, as it is the case of San Bernardino Tlaxcalancingo. Place where there are still agricultural zones immersed in the locality, with cultivation of nopal and maize, that are the base of the local economy. This research analyzes the impact of the urban growth of the Atlixcáyotl Territorial Reserve on agricultural areas in order to know how this urban growth has affected the decrease of agricultural areas and thus have the basis for a proposal of urban growth, which takes into account the change of land use of the last three decades, areas of agricultural value and local uses and customs; which have predominated for generations in this locality.
The urban concentration has reached the limits of the present city. We can see nowadays its unstoppable growth, becoming, in some regions and countries, megalopolis that absorb up to 80% of its population. It is difficult to predict where the top of its growth will be, given that cities like Buenos Aires take in up to 14 million citizens. Back in 1882, an urbanistic proposal based on a linear growth got ahead the future, trying back then to blend both the rural and the urban life. The linear city would cut across the countryside, linking traditional cities between them and creating a net in the territory. Even though the references to the work of its inventor, Arturo Soria y Mata, are not explicit, his ideas have been taken into account in different urban developments during the last century, and we could nowadays bring them back to debate over the morphology of the present city. The linear city originates an alternative to the housing of all social classes.
Long-distance public passenger transport by road is one of the principal means for the articulation of the settlements. In Ecuador, public transport is of massive use for long-distance travel and how routes are disponibles, the centers which interconnect, and frequencies of services suggest wich are the main relationships that take place in the territory. When there are no other expressive indicators of these relationships it becomes a fundamental source to know the functioning of urban systems. Likewise, the analysis of territorial accessibility contributes in a complementary way to defining these relationships, especially in areas where there are no public transport connections. The article analyzes territorial relations that occur at different levels of the system of settlements through the transport system and accessibility analysis, and made an approach to areas that are generated around the main nodal centers of Ecuador.
