This study took place in Llano Chico, a peri-urban parish in the Metropolitan District of Quito, in Ecuador. Photovoltaic energy was chosen, given the location of the site on the Equator with optimal solar conditions. The objective was to develop participatory methodology to determine the spatial configuration of a possible photovoltaic project. Community participation was key. Qualitative research methods were based on observation, snowball techniques, semi-structured interviews and a participatory workshop. The results open the doors to the possibility of having community photovoltaic energy for the installation of public lighting in informal residential areas that suffer from security issues. This could fill a void of services, due to public companies not being able to carry out operations in informal urban areas. The academic sector through strategies of community participation can bring about compelling opportunities that foster development.

La construcción del espacio existencial de Heidegger. Vacío activo en Oteiza y espacio receptivo en Judd
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, 2020-01-20) Llamazares Blanco, Pablo; Ramos Jular, Jorge; Zaparaín Hernández, Fernando
The sculptural works developed by Jorge Oteiza and Donald Judd since the mid-twentieth century, deepen in the influence between artistic disciplines, which remove the spatial limits between sculpture and architecture. The space gets a great role in this sense, since from the reading of the void proposed by Martin Heidegger through his lecture entitled The art and space, the sculpture put together the artistic object and the viewer in a phenomenological experience, which reminds to the most basic spatial condition of the architectural fact. Through the analysis of the active void of Oteiza and the receptive space of Judd, the article delves into the spatial theories proposed by both artists, which are influenced by the existentialist philosophy of Heidegger and which reach their maximum expression by different paths in their multiple collaborations with architecture. A spatiality of sculptural practice, which stablishes a great chapter in the interdisciplinary creative processes between sculpture and architecture.

Espacio, tiempo y paisaje.
The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between space, time and landscape from two different but complementary approaches: that of perception and that of project. On the one hand, the way in which visual sequences are represented in the analysis of open spaces is analyzed, transferring to the field of landscape the space-time approach that Giedion introduced for architecture in his influential book Space, Time and Architecture. On the other hand, representation systems to design landscape transformation processes are studied, from those associated with plant succession to those of a more structural nature, which transcend the scale of architectural design to be placed in the field of urban scale strategic plans.

All patrimonial monuments of Ecuador should have a formal record both graphic and photographic, as well as textual and informative of how they originated and what their current state is. To achieve this, it is necessary to carry out an architectural survey and rilievo. There is a big difference between these two concepts: the survey describes the physical aspects of the monument, through the taking of measurements, while the rilievo defines the building non-material aspects that help to understand its origin, geometry, shapes, symbolism and styles involved. This article reveals, through the architectural survey and rilievo, as part of the research methodology, the shape, geometry, dimensions, origin, symbolism and styles of the Main Church of Zaruma (Sanctuary of the Virgen del Carmen, located in the upper part of the province of El Oro, Ecuador, whose construction dates from 1912). This record will be very useful for the conservation and restoration of the patrimonial good in the event of an accident or deterioration due to time, and thus eventually be recovered in its original form.
