Item Deterinación de progesterona en mujeres que presentan aborto o amenaza de aborto en el primer trimestre de embarazo(2013) Tello Salazar, Erika Mariela; Vásquez Ortiz, Maricela Fernanda; Chérrez Verdugo, Nancy GracielaThis project is based on the determination of progesterone in women with threatened abortion or abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy by the method of chemiluminescence, in the Pablo Jaramillo Foundation and Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital of the city of Cuenca. It is a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional, comparative, We analyzed samples of 51 patients of whom 25 had a diagnosis of threatened abortion (Group A), 15 spontaneous abortion (Group B) and We also worked with 11 patients who were in normal pregnancy (Group C). For women in Group A the average progesterone concentration was 10.52 ng/ml with a standard deviation of 9.77 ng/ml, for women in Group B the average progesterone concentration was 12.01 ng/ml with a standard deviation of 10.52 ng/ml and for women in Group C the average progesterone concentration was 20.92 ng/ml with a standard deviation of 8.89 ng/ml, with the reference values for serum progesterone 9-71ng/ml. Statistically, significant differences were found between the study groups, with a value of p<0.05. By taking values below 9ng/ml, 23 samples were found with lower serum progesterone concentration than the reference value, giving a prevalence of serum progesterone of 45.09% lower than a 9ng/ml, because in one of the groups, normal pregnancy (group C), no cases were found. Coming up to determine that based on the statistical evidence, the corpus luteum deficiency (progesterone) is associated with the diagnosis of threatened abortion or spontaneous abortion
