Item Calidad de vida y factores asociados en pacientes con enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica. Consulta externa del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Cuenca, 2017-2018.(Universidad de Cuenca, 2019-04-03) Orellana Mogrovejo, Adriana Catalina; Ojeda Orellana, Karina PaolaIntroduction: the patient with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is exposed to factors that may contribute to the deterioration of the Quality of Life (QOL) of the same. Objective: to determine the QOL and associated factors in patients with COPD of the outpatient clinic of Pulmonology of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital in the city of Cuenca. Methods and materials: an observational, cross-sectional analytical study conducted in 286 adult patients diagnosed with COPD who attended the outpatient clinic of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital who met the inclusion criteria; The criteria for calculating the sample were: p = 10%, e2 = 3.7%, Zα2 = 3.84 and expected losses 10%. The CV was evaluated through the Saint-George questionnaire included in a structured form where sociodemographic characteristics, lung function, degree of dyspnea, smoking behavior, depression and CV were also collected. The analysis of the data was done through the SPSS in its version 21, for the hypothesis test the RP was applied, 95% CI and p value <0.05. Results: 63.6% of the studied population was represented by the male sex, the behavior of the CV was 38.46% poor, and it was found associated with dyspnea RP = 1.88 and 95% CI 1.38-2.54 p <0.001 and depression RP = 4.05 and 95% CI 2.08-7.89 p <0.001. Conclusions: 38.46% of the patients had a poor CV and it was associated with the presence of dyspnea and depression
