Item Prevalencia de violencia de parejas en estudiantes de enfermería. Universidad Católica de Cuenca, sede Macas, periodo 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-05-07) Coronel Vásquez, Zoila Elizabeth; Espinoza Guamán, Pedro SebastiánBackground: Intimate partner violence constitutes a serious social problem worldwide, which triggers complications in the physical and psychological health of people. General Objective: Determine the prevalence of intimate partner violence in nursing students, Catholic University of Cuenca, Macas campus, period from August 2022 to August 2023. Methodology: Crosssectional descriptive observational study carried out on 200 nursing students from the Catholic University of Cuenca, Macas campus, who responded to validated questionnaires such as: the Vizcarra and Poo violence test, and the questionnaire to determine socioeconomic level - Scale Graffar Méndez Castellanos. The variables analyzed were age, sex, religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, physical and psychological violence. Descriptive statistics and the chisquare test of independence were used using the SPSS program. Results: The population was represented by 83.5% of women in the age range of 19 to 25 years in 74%, mestizo ethnicity (76.5%), Catholic religion (67.5%) and socioeconomic level of stratum. medium low (43.5%). The prevalence of psychological violence was 5 out of 10 participants with 57% compared to physical violence from 3 out of 10 participants representing 36.5%. Regarding the association with sociodemographic factors, no relationship was obtained with sex, age group, religion, ethnicity and due to the p value of 0.64, 0.15, 0.31 and 0.86. respectively. Conclusion: The psychological dimension becomes more prevalent in the context of intimate partner violence, a phenomenon observed in both genders.
