Item La despenalización del aborto en caso de violación y su potencial eficacia para reducir la tasa de mortalidad en el Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-01-16) Cajas Campoverde, Michelle Carolina; Valdivieso Vintimilla, Simón BolívarThe present work is focused on the analysis of the potential influence that the decriminalization of abortion in case of rape may have on the reduction of maternal mortality, by virtue of the current legislation that regulates it and the public policies of the public institutions involved in this process. The general objective is to analyze critically and legally the decriminalization of abortion in case of rape in the Ecuadorian Criminal Law, to determine its impact on the reduction of the maternal mortality rate and the protection of the right to sexual health and health. Chapter I conceptualizes abortion and rape, as well as the constitutional rights of girls, adolescents, and women. Subsequently, Chapter II analyzes the sentence No. 34-19-IN/21 and accumulated, and the Organic Law that Regulates the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy for Girls, Adolescents and Women in the Case of Rape. Finally, Chapter III analyzes public policies for the comprehensive care of voluntary interruption of pregnancy in cases of rape and to reduce maternal mortality. In general terms, it is concluded that the WHO recommendations should be considered, and that due control and monitoring of public policies and current regulations should be carried out to ensure effective access to comprehensive care for the voluntary termination of pregnancy in the case of rape to reduce the maternal mortality rate.Item Percepciones y prácticas de sexualidad de las mujeres en situación de acogimiento por violencia de género en el Cantón Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-07-09) Carrión Narea, Gabriela Andrea; Boira Sarto, Santiago JoséThe following research work is part of the complex environment in which health services operate. The current research work has been developed in order to identify the perceptions, feelings and emotions related to the practice of the sexual and reproductive health in women who have attended or been refugees in the women’s shelters after suffering gender violence and principally for the necessity of protecting their own lives in most of the cases. The nature of this investigation is both qualitative and quantitative. The likely interrelationship between gender based violence and attitudes and behavior in women sexuality is being analyzed in this study. In addition, the fact that gender based violence has been affecting women since early years of adolescence is being highlighted, and for this reason, two groups of women were examined in order to determine the possible similarities or differences relating to their sexual activity. The evident application of the current public policies related to the mechanisms in favor of the gender based violence and the direct and indirect claimants in this context. These informative data have been analyzed as strictly confidential according to the agreement made by the young women and the rest of the female participants; the name of the contributors have been omitted the same as the identification of the centers that willingly provided their contingent.
