The topic: "Thoughts, feelings and attitudes of families with a member with Down syndrome, Honey Foundation, Pasaje, 2012" is about a congenital disorder that comes great responsibility by parents, psychologists and educators. The situation of a child with Down syndrome is included in the present analysis from a social and emotional development of the families involved, as the understanding and acceptance of the possibility that the child has on their development. Taking into account historical events have taken to defend the value of people with intellectual disabilities in the United States "after World War II, parents of children with intellectual disabilities, fought to secure for their children the same rights and opportunities available to other children." (Pueschel, 2002, p. 14) This research is based on what parents have experienced: doubts and fears to face a society with little education on the subject and how to cope with situations of discrimination, for treatment with dignity of children with Syndrom of Down.
