Neurogenic inflammation is the first Iine of defense to protect tissue integrity and implies a complex Cascade of neuro-immune- vascular interactions, being a córner stone the neuroimmune interaction, on which is critical the role of neuropeptídes as immunomodulators. These neuropeptídes include Substance P (SP), Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), Neurokinin A (NKA), Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), Neuropeptide Y (NPY), function in health and disease.
