Item Determinación de bacterias y hongos en las áreas de hospitalización, del Hospital Básico de Girón Aida León de Rodríguez Lara, Azuay 2018(2019-04-08) Chazi Inga, Nathaly Del Rocío; Gutiérrez León, Yomaira YolandaBackground Infections associated with health care (IAAS) at the hospital level have a high mortality and morbidity rate worldwide. As countries improve their health systems, a reduction in in-hospital disease rates will be reflected. Objective Determine the presence of bacteria and fungi in the hospitalization areas of the Basic Hospital of Girón Aida León de Rodríguez Lara, Azuay 2018. Methodology It was a cross-sectional study, of a prospective descriptive nature. The universe was constituted by the hospitalization areas of the Hospital de Girón. For the sample a propositive sampling was considered. An analytical method was used by taking samples through surface swabbing and case exposure. The data was processed and analyzed using SPSS version 15.0 and Excel. Results 70 samples were analyzed, 91 microorganisms were isolated. The areas with the greatest presence of isolated microorganisms were male clinical and pediatric each with 23%. The most frequent bacterium was Staphylococcus aureus with 24.18%. The most frequent fungus was Penicillium sp with 2.2%. Stretchers and tables presented 34% and 31% of isolated germs. In addition, Pseudomona sp, Serratia rubidaea and Klebsiella pneumoniae, related to IAAS, were isolated. conclusion The presence of bacteria and fungi was determined in samples of surface and ambient air, with predominance of bacteria at the level of high contact surfaces, it is necessary to carry out an adequate management of cleaning and disinfection processes, to avoid contamination and propagation of microorganisms.
