Item Características del abandono de la lactancia materna en madres que acuden al Centro de Salud “Pumapungo” Cuenca 2017(2018) Méndez Urdiales, Erika Cristina; Chacha Chacha, Lilian Verónica; Arévalo Peláez, Carlos EduardoOBJECTIVE: To determine the characteristics of breastfeeding discontinuation of mothers attending the Health Center “Pumapungo” in the city of Cuenca in the year 2017. METHODOLOGY: Study with quantitative focus, descriptive cross-section. We worked with a finite universe of 242 mothers of children under 2 years who came to the control of the healthy child in the health center "Pumapungo" 2017. The descriptive method, the technique the application of a survey, the instrument that was applied was the questionnaire health Cap. The programs used were the program Microsoft Excel and software SPSS version 24, the results are presented by tables of frequencies and by percentage. RESULTS: The results of the study show that the majority of mothers were aged 21 to 25, this means 33.5% (n=81); women who completed the secondary instruction level 48.8% (n = 118); housewives 61.2% (n = 148), women who are in union 45.5% (n = 110); and the women who come from urban areas 77.3% (n=187). On the total sample, the 53.3 % (n=129) feed their children with breast milk; 52.5% (n = 127) have no knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding; the 41.3 % (n=100) feed their children with water. Additionally, mothers who usually feed their children with breast milk in a period of time of months correspond to 71.1% (n=172); and exclusive breast milk in a period of time of months 61.2% (n=148); women who had problems with breastfeeding 52.5%(n=127); women who had cracked nipples 33.1% (n = 80); and women who feed their children with infant formula milk just in case they do not have breast milk 33.9% (n=82). CONCLUSIONS: Breastfeeding should be exclusive during the first 6 months of life. As a consequence of low breast milk production, mothers frequently decide to use infant formula milk while breastfeeding.Item Experiencias de los adultos mayores respecto al Síndrome del nido vacío en E.S. El Pan en el año 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-03) Mayancela Contreras, Paula Alejandra; Morocho Malla, Manuel IsmaelBackground: empty nest syndrome is a set of symptoms such as melancholy, sadness, and discomfort that occur mainly in older adults when their children leave home. Objective: to describe the experiences of empty nest syndrome in older adults treated at Health Facility El Pan, Azuay in 2022. Methodology: this is phenomenological qualitative research. Categories of analysis: life cycle, older adults, abandonment, and empty nest syndrome. The study population was older adults receiving care at E.S. El Pan. Population: the snowball method was used. Inclusion criteria: be an older adult, and sign an informed consent. Evaluation: interview. Validation of information: updated bibliography. Data processing: Atlas.ti software program. Results: the stories describe the experiences of older adults, and show that the empty nest syndrome is present in elderly, although it is unknown by them. With the qualitative analysis it was possible to recognize the characteristics of the syndrome, being loneliness and abandonment the factors with the greatest presence. The condition affects everyone equally regardless of social aspects. Conclusion: empty nest syndrome is a problem of El Pan families. Although the signs indicate the presence of this phenomenon and its high frequency, it should be taken into account as a public health problem, and society as well institutions should be encouraged to be responsible for our older adults.Item Factores biopsicosociales influyentes en el abandono de la lactancia materna exclusiva, Centro de Salud Carlos Elizalde 2018(2019-03-13) Coronel Sánchez, Tatiana Gabriela; Díaz Chamba, Ana Patricia; Angulo Rosero, Aydee NarcisaBackground.- Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is the feeding of the infant with breast milk of the mother, without any solid or liquid supplement, up to 6 months. It favors the optimal development of the baby, its intelligence and quality of life. Objective.- Identify influential biopsychosocial factors in the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding, Carlos Elizalde Health Center 2018. Methodology.- A descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional, finite universe study of 586 was carried out. The formula of Pita Fernández was applied, obtaining a sample of 232 mothers of children under one year of age who attended the Carlos Elizalde Health Center outpatient clinic in November. December 2018. A survey conducted by Jem Roxette Carhuas Córdova 2016, Peru, was applied. The data were processed in the Excel and SPSS version 22 programs, elaborating tables and graphs, the statistical analysis based on frequencies and percentages. Results.- Predominated in the study sample: age group 20 - 29 years with 43.97%, without neglecting the 29.74% that belongs to adolescent mothers between 13 - 19 years, mestizo ethnicity 90.95 %, milk production abundant 33.70%, 20% scarce or none being an influential factor in LME abandonment, marital status 41.25%, complete secondary education level 47.41%. One 40% child there was a relationship between occupation, the abandonment of LME, at 46.98% of public employees, 53.45% had low knowledge, and 88.41% of adolescent mothers had a low level of knowledge of the subject. Conclusions.- The results allowed us to identify influential biopsychosocial factors in the abandonment of EBF in mothers of children under one year of age, and will also serve as a basis for future studies on the subject.
