    Rol del trabajador y trabajadora social de las casas de acogida para niños, niñas y adolescentes del Cantón Cuenca en los procesos de reinserción familiar durante el año 2023

    This research is composed of an organized structure, which is based on demonstrating in an academic way how the role of the social worker in institutional foster homes in family reintegration processes is carried out. The problem of the lack of knowledge of other professionals about the functions of Social Work in these processes is highlighted, which leads to the devaluation of their work. The general objective was to determine the role of the Social Worker in the foster homes for children and adolescents; Casa Violeta, CEMISOL, Hogar Miguel León and Hogar Infantil Tadeo in the canton of Cuenca in the processes of family reintegration during the year 2023. The research was conducted through in-depth interviews with social workers from four shelters: Casa Violeta, CEMISOL, Hogar Miguel León and Hogar Infantil Tadeo. A qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach was used. The data collection period was from September to December 2023. The selected population was non-probabilistic, using convenience sampling. After analyzing the results, it is observed that the role of the social worker in the family reintegration process is much more than a welfare work, it is a set of specific and general functions that provide a significantly positive impact on the lives of children and adolescents reintegrated into their families.
