Item Aprender Haciendo: modelo pedagógico experimental aplicado a una vivienda de interés social usando procesos constructivos innovadores ligeros en acero galvanizado(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-10-01) Hermida Brabo, José Luis; Patiño Tenesaca, Darío Antonio; León González, Pablo ArmandoIn Ecuador, the lack of housing has come to violate the vital rights of low-income families. Only in Cuenca city there is a deficit of 14,608 homes, this due to the fact that 7,821 families are part of the extreme poverty group, and 6,787 families are part of the moderate poverty group, therefore, the difficulty of access to dignified housing. As a response to this harsh reality, the main objective of this research is to demonstrate the effectiveness of an academic process developed through experimentation and with the elaboration of a practical application proposal on a dynamic habitat model. The educational practice of the students is enriched through the execution of the experimental pedagogical model, thus innovating the teaching process and ensuring a good development of professional skills. In addition, it is intended to provide a real experience on the Steel Frame construction system in the construction of dignified housingfor the neediest populations. Thus, contributing to a great extent to the problem of low-cost housing deficit. For the development of this work, the research team used a qualitative-descriptive methodological approach, based on a case study and complemented with information collected through different instruments. In the project participated a family with limited economic resources, made up of 8 members of which 7 were children with ages ranging between 3 - 16 years and the mother who served as the head of the household. This project was applied in the rural area south of the city of Cuenca, in the El Lirio sector, belonging to Turi parish. The main conclusions of this work demonstrate that, from the social role, architecture and academia contribute significantly to the innovation of knowledge. Also, with the architecture teaching model, knowledge is better assimilated, an example of this is the knowledge shared between students. Likewise, regarding construction systems, the adaptability and responses of the Steel Frame system to unfavorable environments and conditions can be highlighted
