Item Anteproyecto arquitectónico de la Unidad Educativa para la parroquia Molleturo(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-09-03) Crespo Auquilla, Sergio Andrés; Puin Gutama, Roberth Paul; Ramos Monori, Jeimis LeonardoThis degree project focuses on the elaboration of the architectural design of an educational unit for the rural parish of Molleturo in the canton of Cuenca. The initiative arises as a response to the growing educational crisis faced by the institution due to the constant increase of students, exceeding the capacity of the current infrastructure and compromising the quality of education offered. The research is divided into five chapters. The first one analyzes the historical and geographical background of Molleturo, recognizing the identity of the place and its social trajectory. In the second chapter, case studies of educational centers are examined, extracting implementation strategies for the establishment’s proposal. The third chapter analyzes the current state of the site and its surroundings, considering urban, demographic and topographic factors. The fourth chapter focuses on the design of the architectural blueprint for the Molleturo Educational Unit, incorporating previously identified criteria with the intention of resolving the lack of space and establishing a harmonious relationship with the environment.Item Anteproyecto para la ampliación del área oncológica y de radioterapia del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social IESS(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Arquitectura, 2025-11-13) Guillén Peñalosa, Johanna del Cisne; Vivar Mora, María Elisa; León González, Pablo ArmandoThis thesis presents the architectural preliminary design for the expansion of the Radiotherapy and Oncology Center of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), located at the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital in Cuenca. The project was developed in response to an institutional request from the IESS to the University of Cuenca, aiming to address the critical healthcare service deficit in oncology identified in zones 6 and 7 of Ecuador. Through comprehensive urban, physical, morphological, and functional analyses, the intervention proposes a vertical expansion of the existing building by adding two floors to a reinforced concrete structure with sufficient load-bearing capacity. The design emphasizes environmental comfort, universal accessibility, and operational efficiency by integrating passive lighting and ventilation strategies, as well as a functional redistribution that optimizes internal circulation and improves healthcare delivery. This expansion increases the center’s service capacity by 60%, enabling it to serve more patients and reinforcing Ecuador’s specialized hospital infrastructure for cancer treatment.Item Diseño de un conjunto habitacional destinado a personas con discapacidad motriz(2014) Santacruz Ochoa, Santiago Ismael; Mogrovejo Calle, VicenteOver the years it has been observed as technology and architecture gone advanced in different ways, creating amazing designs that were previously unimaginable, however, not all the designs have been created are accessible to all people, putting certain groups outside these spaces, in this specific case the person with mobility disabilities. Motor Disability affects movement and displacement of people, so accessibility and enabling media represent major needs they face. That is why there is a responsibility to put spaces, furniture and specific support for the proper use and access of goods and services that allow their basic, social and emotional needs, then the objective is to design a housing complex where architectural barriers are removed and implement the so-called Universal Design, where disability is not a condition of the person, as the set of attributes created by the space in which they are going to live will be the most optimal for their development.
